Summer & Jason’s Garden Wedding
Summer and Jason chose to have an intimate garden wedding at the Farmington Historic Plantation in Louisville. It was simply beautiful. This lush green wedding venue with its gardens and home, tucked away just off Bardstown Rd in the heart of Louisville, was a perfect setting to tie the knot. In my many years of being a Louisville wedding photographer this is my very first Farmington Historic Plantation wedding. I loved it! There were so many options for shooting on the beautiful 18 acre property rich with 200 years of Kentucky history. We certainly enjoyed our time walking throughout the grounds doing portraits. Summer looked just stunning. I also loved her bouquet with all its variety. What made this wedding so fun to photograph was Jason and Summer’s obvious love and affection for one another. They were so happy to be getting married and likewise to be celebrating with loved ones. Jason and Summer chose to have their ceremony in the beautifully manicured garden. Their closest family and friends gathered for their exchanging of vows. Not only did they exchange the traditional vows, but they also wrote their own which were personal, meaningful and a bit humorous. The reception was held in the nearby shelter house. It was a hot day, but everyone had a great time. After the party died down we headed over to do more portraits with the Louisville city skyline, St. James Park fountain and downtown at the Brown Hotel. The whole day was a joyful celebration and I was honored to document it. I’m now certainly looking forward to photographing more weddings at the Farmington Plantation. Congratulations Summer and Jason!
