The bride wore an ivory lace Ellis Bridal mermaid gown with a sweeping tulle train. She added a hand-beaded satin sash to match the beading in the dress, an ivory veil, a pearl hair comb and pearl earrings. Her shoes were ivory satin with a gold glitter heel by Kate Spade New York. The bridal bouquet was designed with roses, hydrangeas and lilies wrapped in ivory satin and pearls. The groom wore a classic black and white tux with a two-button, single-breasted jacket and vest. It featured a slimmer satin notch lapel and modern pant with a beaded stripe. He wore authentic silver 1943 penny cufflinks, a gift from Stephanie, and carried his paternal grandfather’s wedding band in his pocket. The groom’s boutonniere was a white lily to match the bride’s bouquet. The mother of the bride wore a knee-length satin dress in champagne with a lace jacket. The mother of the groom wore a long blue chiffon gown with a beaded jacket. Both wore rose corsages. The father of the bride and father of the groom wore classic black tuxes with black vests that matched the groom and rose boutonnieres. The matrons of honor and bridesmaids each wore their own style of a long black chiffon gown with pearl earrings. The junior bridesmaid added a beaded sash and a pearl hair comb. Their bouquets were made of roses and hydrangeas. The best man and groomsmen wore black tuxes with champagne vests and ties and rose boutonnieres. The junior groomsman wore the same with the addition of a champagne bow tie.
Stephanie and Jason wanted their wedding reception to be classic, romantic and elegant. The wedding colors included champagne, ivory, black and blush pink. The tables were draped in champagne satin with gold chargers and trumpet vases filled with roses, hydrangeas and ivy to pull in the natural look of the gardens. Beautiful candle centerpieces included votive and floating candles. Gold chiavari chairs added a touch of elegance.
Guests were invited to a cocktail reception in the gardens immediately following the ceremony where they enjoyed h’orderves and an open bar. When the bridal party arrived, the reception began with the couple’s first dance. Jason and Stephanie worked with PartyZone Productions to create a mixed song that included their favorite artists – Michael Jackson, The Doors, Prince and Justin Timberlake. The first dance was followed by a dinner buffet with chef carved Angus prime rib, chicken picatta, angel hair pasta and an assortment of salads and vegetables. The bride danced with her father after dinner. Little did she know that dad had some dance moves up his sleeve! Family members and friends were treated to a lively dance to Roy Orbison’s Pretty Woman, full of spins, twists and more. Stephanie and Jason then shared a dance with his children to kick off a special Parents Dance for all wedding guests.
Stephanie researched wedding cakes for hours looking for the perfect design. Unable to find exactly what she wanted, she decided to design her own, and Adrienne & Co. carried out her vision perfectly. The three-tier cake included two delicately decorated layers with champagne ribbons and blush colored roses atop a base layer covered with fondant petals. The cake flavors were white with hazelnut, Italian cream and red velvet with butter-cream icing.
