David’s Photojournalism Philosophy

David Blair, a Louisville wedding photojournalist, loves using available light as well as the occasional flash, when needed, to creatively capture events as they happen. As a photojournalistic photographer he is on a search to capture real emotion and the organic moments that make up your day. He enjoys finding unique angles and innovative ways of getting the shot. He also loves using wide open apertures to achieve a shallow depth of field drawing attention to his subjects. David prefers to use his large telephoto lenses as much as possible to get right in the action while keeping a distance and avoiding drawing attention to himself as he captures the day’s events. All that being said, David also interacts with each couple to produce comfortable portraits that do involve some guiding, yet even in these semi-posed photos couples always look comfortable and natural. David has been capturing life’s moments with his unique style as a Kentucky wedding photojournalist and wedding photographer since 2001. David continues to grow as a master in the craft of photography and his images have proven him to be an artist that will invoke emotion and wonder. His easy-going personality allows people to feel comfortable while he creates beautiful and natural looking photos. From the smallest details of a ring bearer getting ready to the passionate love of a groom kissing his new bride, David is able to capture life in a way altogether his own. His skill has led him to become one of the most sought-after Louisville wedding photojournalists. David also travels regularly throughout Kentucky and the surrounding states capturing the emotions and details of weddings. David’s style is simple but he believes that his images should speak volumes – about who you are as a person and about the relationship between a husband and wife. He strives to create images at each and every wedding that illuminates the relationships; both of each individual family and the new family being created that day. His goal is to provide you with a documentary-based illustration of your wedding day with minimal posing. It’s not his intention to just “make pretty pictures” but to truly make images that capture the relationship between two people in love. Contact David Blair today and your great-grandchildren will be able to appreciate David’s distinctive images. To see more of David’s work you can view his Portfolio or check out his Blog.
