I'm glad you stopped by. My name is David Blair and I am a Louisville Wedding Photographer. My goal as a wedding photographer is to provide brides and grooms throughout Kentucky, Indiana and anywhere worldwide with stunning photographic images and presentations. I strive to produce unique and artistic images that preserve the romance, emotions and overall vibe of weddings in an unobtrusive manner. I absolutely love my job and never get tired of shooting couples on their happiest day. Each wedding is a different and unique experience that pushes me to be even more creative.
I discovered I had an eye for photography when I was first handed a camera in high school. With yearbook providing the film, I was able to continually improve and hone my skill. I had found my niche. In college, I took a variety of photography classes which taught me the technical side of photography, and I then furthered my skill by attending photography conferences and workshops. Now after 12 years of photographing weddings, I love it more than ever.
Melody and Corey’s Louisville wedding ceremony took place at the St. Louis Bertrand Catholic Church and the reception was held at one of Louisville newest wedding venues. Passalino is a restored old building downtown in the heart of the city. Melody and Corey were as happy as can be as they tied the knot. The beauty of St. Louis Bertrand Church was certainly rivaled by the joy on Melody’s face while walking down the aisle to exchange her vows. I can imagine Corey’s heart about burst out of his chest with the realization that it was HIS bride walking towards him in all her glory. These two were certainly meant for each other. After saying “I do” the couple graciously allowed me to take a few more portraits before we all made our way to head to the reception. I enjoyed capturing these wedding photos. Congratulations to Melody and Corey!
Madison and Justin’s wedding took place on on a cool autumn day out on a private ranch just outside of Louisville Kentucky. There were so many details about this Kentucky wedding photography that I enjoyed. It was full of outdoor wedding ideas. First of all, the setting was absolutely stunning with beautiful views of rolling green hills, a rustic barn that had been finished inside for comfort, horse fencing and trees. Madison wanted the feel of a church wedding, but outside. She actually pulled it off! The ceremony location was given a unique vibe by bringing in church pews, custom made wooden doors, a metal cross and lots of flowers. Madison came in a horse drawn carriage and then walked down the center aisle bursting with joy. The ceremony was designed to both celebrate their union and honor God, the creator of marriage. In it they braided a strand of three chords symbolizing the unity in marriage both with each other and with God. I loved seeing their affection and their love for one another was so evident. Madison looked absolutely lovely in her dress. I also noticed that she had the words “I do” on the bottom of her shoes. Justin, who had been sweaty when I arrived from happily setting up for the reception, cleaned up nicely in time for the ceremony. They were both so comfortable and excited as the time drew near for them to make their wedding vows. After the ceremony we took sometime to create some comfortable portraits and then it was time to head into the barn for the reception.
Jennifer and Stephen’s wedding ceremony took place downtown at the Cathedral of Assumption. As a Louisville wedding photographer I always enjoy photographing weddings at the Cathedral. It’s such a beautiful and romantic setting. I love this gorgeous church building in the heart of the city with it’s towering steeple, massive arches and intricate painting on it’s ceiling. It is certainly one of the most elegant places to get married anywhere in Kentucky. On the way to the reception we went across the river to shoot with the city skyline. Then we were off to 300 Spring. Congratulations Stephen and Jennifer! It was an honor to be a part of your day.
As a Kentucky and Indiana wedding photographer it’s always a joy when wedding magazines come in the mail. Having my work published is always a great honor and I was excited yesterday when Wedding Day Magazine arrived. Within it’s glossy pages Charley and Karen’s wedding in an apple orchard is currently being featured. This just makes their celebration that much more special. They got married at the beautiful Huber’s Winery in Southern Indiana. This lovely vineyard wedding took place on a nice Fall day with clouds dramatically looming, but the rain stayed away! We had a great time wandering through an apple orchard and a vineyard, both conveniently located within just 200 yards of the ceremony site. They made their vows beneath a beautiful arbor with a view of the orchard behind them and surrounded by the vineyard. They looked great in the afternoon light. I just love how you can see the connection they have. Perhaps my favorite image from the day was taken from a high angle looking down on the two of them out in the midst of the vineyard. Of course the setting is amazing, but how they couldn’t seem to take their eyes off of each other made it that much more romantic. I also really enjoyed creating comfortable portraits as they walked down the vineyard rows. At one point Charlie stopped to dip Karen back for a kiss. I chose to compose my image from a distance and from a low angle showing all the grapevines leading to the happy couple. Congratulations Charley and Karen!

Rachel and Justin’s Louisville wedding ceremony took place downtown at the Cathedral of Assumption. As a Louisville wedding photographer it is always a joy for me to document Cathedral of Assumption weddings. It’s such a romantic setting. I love this gorgeous church building in the heart of the city with it’s towering steeple, massive arches and intricate painting on it’s ceiling. It is certainly one of the most beautiful places to get married anywhere in Kentucky. As they left the Cathedral all of their guests blew bubbles for a picturesque exit. After they tied the knot we jumped in a party bus to take pictures at a park. Then to make the day even better their reception was held at one of the finest historic hotels in the city. The Brown Hotel wedding reception in the Crystal Ballroom looked simply amazing. The Brown is an excellent choice for any stylish wedding and as such it is one of my favorite venues to shoot in. The architecture adds a richness to every photo. I simply love how romantic the image of Rachel being dip by Justin for a kiss among the archways looks. Although, the massive chandeliers are beautiful, one led to a humorous problem during the bouquet toss. If you look carefully, you’ll notice that the bouquet actually landed in the chandelier. Despite that one hitch, the day was amazing. Rachel and Justin had great time with family and friends and a celebration lasted long into the night. It was in honor to photograph the day. Thanks for letting me be a part of one of the most important days of your life. Congratulations Justin and Rachel!
