Do they have time to make an enlargement like Annas to sign at wedding?
Just a suggestion. Have Chris cut his beard the same as length as hair and mustache. It will be same color and look super clean. I love everything else. Your gonna make some killer shots. Congrats.

Stephanie and Jason’s Whitehall Wedding

Stephanie and Jason’s Louisville Wedding at Whitehall was an elegant occasion.  As a Louisville wedding photographer serving Lexington and Louisville, I love every opportunity I get to come to this gorgeous estate.  Whitehall is a perfect venue for a garden wedding.  This gorgeous historic mansion reminds me of the White House, but without all the Secret Service agents.  The grounds include a beautiful long drive that makes quite an impression as guests arrive, as well as a perfectly manicured garden ideal for a wedding ceremony and cocktail hour. This Kentucky treasure is tucked away in the heart of St. Matthews.  Not only does each room of the mansion have a unique  look to it, but each one is filled with antique furniture, drapes and the like.  Its like stepping back in time and gives the wedding photos a truly nostalgic feel.  Stephanie looked absolutely stunning and seem to fit the sophisticated setting perfectly. After everyone finished getting ready we did some portraits in the garden and inside the house. Soon it was time to head back out to the garden where the guests had gathered to witness the exchanging of vows. The weather was comfortable for this intimate ceremony and the sun even burst through the clouds just as the wedding began.  While the guests enjoyed some hors d’oeuvres and spirits Jason and Stephanie took some family pictures and then were gracious enough to give me some time to walk around the grounds with them to take some relaxed and comfortable portraits.  It was an honor to document the details,  happenings and emotion of this day that they will never forget.  The reception tent looked fabulous and the guests enjoyed a delicious meal with Certified Angus Beef.  The dance floor was filled with a playful crowd that kept everyone laughing into the night.  It was a great day and I thoroughly enjoyed creating these wedding photos at Whitehall Louisville. Congratulations Jason and Stephanie!

Abby & Chad’s Louisville Wedding at The Gillespie

Abby & Chad’s Wedding at The Gillespie was fabulous.  As a wedding photographer in Louisville, it is always a pleasure when I get to shoot weddings at the Gillespie Louisville. It is a historical bank that has been reopened as a wedding venue.  I especially love the vault door.  Throughout the day Abby & Chad were carefree and their wedding party was ready to start a party.  Everything had been planned perfectly and  the whole day went off without a hitch. Well, technically they got hitched, but you know what I mean. The beauty of St. Louis Bertrand Church was certainly rivaled by the joy on Abby’s face while walking down the aisle to exchange her vows. I can imagine Chad’s heart about burst out of his chest with the realization that it was HIS bride walking towards him in all her glory. These two were certainly meant for each other. After saying “I do” the couple graciously allowed me to take a few more portraits before they hopped in their limo to head to the reception. Chad and Abby were very laid back and willing to use the time well. We really were able to create some great images. Both St. Louis Bertrand and the Gillespie provided such a beautiful and sophisticated setting for the most important day of their lives! While the renovated downtown bank is already an elegant venue to have a great party in, Abby and Chad chose to accent the room with beautiful flowers, fancy chairs and candlelight that pushed it over the top.  The bow ties and elegant colors paired perfectly with the well laid out details of the event.  You could tell that every guest enjoyed themselves and was celebrating… hey, I know even a few of us wedding vendors had a great time!  I truly loved capturing these wedding photos.  Congratulations to Chad and Abby!

Stephanie and Jason’s Louisville Engagement Session

Stephanie and Jason’s wedding is just a couple weeks away so it was extra exciting spending some time with these two for their Engagement Session. As a Louisville and Lexington wedding photographer, I encourage each of my couples to plan on doing an engagement session.  Kentucky has so many great locations for us to choose from, but wherever we choose to shoot, the session not only provides lots of fun pictures of the two of them, but also gives a great opportunity for the three of us to get to know one another.  Once we are better acquainted it makes the wedding day itself go much more smoothly. The day of our shoot we had great weather and our casual session was  enjoyable. We went to a variety of places throughout the city including St. James Court, Cherokee Park and the waterfront. Stephanie and Jason are a sweet couple and I’m really looking forward to getting to document the day that they make their marriage vows.  They are good-looking people, yet their love and kindness towards one another is even more beautiful. Jason was a little nervous and far from excited about spending the afternoon taking pictures, but he knew it really matter to Stephanie, so he sacrificially made the time.  There is much to be praised in a man who looks not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others.  A life filled with little moments like that are what make for great marriages.  I think Stephanie has got a keeper and I’m honored I get to take pictures of the moment when she makes it official.

Jigna and Kal are Engaged!

Kal popped the question.  She said Yes!!!

As a Louisville wedding photographer one of the exciting and unique things I get asked to do is to photograph proposals as they happen. Kal contacted me recently because he was planning to pop the question in Louisville and he wanted to have it well documented. Today was the day and I spent the afternoon secretly photographing the proposal. Here is the story. Kal drove up to Louisville this weekend to celebrate Jigna’s birthday. On their way out for a night on the town at one of Louisville’s finest restaurants Kal took her to a park for a little picnic with wine and appetizers. Then as they sat overlooking a beautiful view of a lush green forests Kal pulled out her birthday present which was a scrapbook filled with photos of their relationship. They looked through the book together and  laughed as they were reminded of all the fun times they have had together. On the last page it said, “Will you marry me?” He got on one knee, pulled out the ring and asked the most important question of his life.

She loved it! Kal planned it out well and managed to catch Jigna completely by surprise. A few minutes later I came much closer and she realize that I was part of the surprise. Then we did a few photos together before they went off to a romantic dinner. It was such a joy to be a part of this proposal!  Thanks and Congratulations Kal and Jigna!  To find out more about having David take pictures of you popping the question fill out the contact form.
