Meghan and James’ Engagement Session

As a Louisville and Lexington wedding photographer I love every opportunity I get to go out with couples before their big day. Engagement sessions provide all of us and opportunity to get to know one another and get comfortable with the photography experience. For Meghan and James engagement session we wandered out into the countryside of southern Indiana. We went out to Huber’s Winery and Orchard and several other spots out in the country. Finally we made our way back downtown to shoot with the Louisville cityscape as a background. Taking an afternoon to do an engagement session actually helps to make better wedding photos. As the couple gets comfortable in front of the camera and we go over some basic posing they soon realize that they’re going to have a great time creating comfortable portraits on their wedding day and that they can trust me. I want them to know that they are in good hands and have nothing to worry about went comes to their wedding photography. Meghan and James were so much fun to hang out with. You might not be able to tell in the pictures, but it was rather cold the day we went out to shoot as it was right at the tail end of all the beautiful fall colors. They joyfully endured the cold and I’m glad they did because we were able to create some beautiful portraits.  I’m eagerly looking forward to shooting a wedding next fall but hoping that that autumn day is much warmer.
