Ellen Fox of ShaFox Weddings & Events did an excellent job despite the storm that poured so much rain down that they considered moving the ceremony indoors at the last minute. We were all thankful a break in the storm came just at the time the ceremony was planned. As the guests were taking their seats it was dark, windy and sprinkling, but as the first bridesmaid began to walk down the aisle the sun broke through the clouds allowing everything to go as planned… well almost everything.
Kristin said, “If you don’t have the valleys in life, you can’t appreciate the peaks.” With Nathan by her side, Kristin endured the many trials of planing the wedding, along with the unexpected strain of family tragedy just months before the wedding. Through the stress, greater bonds were formed between Nathan and Kristin’s family. “I couldn’t imagine someone could make you feel better and feel okay in the middle of all of this.” Kristin said, explaining her husband’s great support. Nathan reupholstered chairs, hung decorations, glued streamers, and stamped invitations—all to support his bride-to-be.
The ring, much like their relationship, is unique. Nathan decided to go with a canary diamond, remembering how it lit up Kristin’s face on a Caribbean cruise in years past. Inscribed on the rings is the couple’s favorite song, “Only You Can Love Me This Way.” With a fairy tale dress, a fairytale ring, a princess and a prince charming, the wedding ended with a night full of dancing. At the end of the night, Kristin and Nathan stepped into a white horse-drawn carriage, which galloped off into the night.
