Courtney & Kevin’s Cathedral of Assumption Wedding

Courtney and Kevin’s whole wedding day was sophisticated from start to finish. Weddings at the Cathedral of Assumption are always a joy and as a Louisville wedding photographer I never get tired of working in what many consider to be the city’s most beautiful church building.  Courtney and all of her ladies got ready in the presidential suite at the Seelbach Hotel.  This spacious suite provided plenty of room for her entourage of ladies to get ready in. Everything from her long bridal veil and high heel shoes to her lace wedding gown was as elegant as could be. Some of my favorite images from the day were of Courtney taken near the window in the hotel.  We took some images of all the bridesmaids at the hotel before walking the short distance over to the Cathedral. Located in the heart of downtown the steeple rises high among Louisville’s tall buildings. The sheer grandeur of this massive Cathedral naturally reminded to all in attendance of the seriousness of the wedding vow being made.  Once they were officially man and wife everyone made their way back to the Seelbach for a cocktail hour and a luxurious reception.  One of the unique details of the day was how they had the name cards which told the guest where they would be sitting tied to miniature bourbon bottles with a custom label made in honor of the celebration.  The ballroom looked absolutely fabulous with fabric draped across the ceiling and the formal dinner settings.  There were a variety of centerpieces and each table had its own custom framed table number made of pearls. The party was quite lively as many of the guest danced long into the night. Courtney and Kevin certainly got married in style and I was honored to be able to document the day for this fun couple.
