For the ceremony Ashley was excited to have a beautiful ombre of flower petals running up the aisle fading from pink to white. If you’re thinking wow, David is cool enough to know the word “ombre”… oh yes I do. If on the other hand you’re not cool enough to know the word “ombre” that’s okay, because I didn’t know it until this wedding either. It is a French term meaning “shaded.” Usually it refers to colors graduating from light to dark. No matter what the proper title is, anyone can appreciate how cool it is to have flower petals all the way up the aisle and to have them slowly fading from one color to another looks stunning. Then to add to my day of beautiful Louisville wedding photography Ashley also had a custom ombre aisle runner with 1 Corinthians 13:4-7, 13 printed on it along with their wedding date. It is a lot of text, but it beautifully filled the runner and the truth of what it says is amazing. Only in the Bible can you find such a beautifully comprehensive definition of love. “Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never ends. . . now faith, hope, and love abide, these three; but the greatest of these is love.” Of course no man can perfectly love as described here, but only the one true living God whose love was demonstrated in the life and death of Jesus Christ for sinners. Nathan along with all other men look to this ideal and the example of Jesus in order to imitate it.
As if the ceremony was not gorgeous enough the wedding reception was even more lavish. The combination of flowers, crystal, candles and up-lighting was magnificent. Paul and Alex from Fleur De Lis Events and Design along with Alicia of Great Expectations did an amazing job truly making Ashley’s wedding dream become a reality. With so much to work with I was able to capture some of my favorite wedding photos at the Brown Hotel to date. After a delicious dinner and touching toast from loved ones the celebration kicked into full gear. It quickly got loud and crazy! They had an energetic live band named Az- Izz from Atlanta that kept the dance party going strong all night long. The truth is if you were not there you missed a great wedding. It all looked amazing and everyone had such a wonderful time. Congratulations Nathan and Ashley and thanks for letting me be a part of your day!
