Amanda and Larry’s Engagement Session

I know there are far colder places, but as a Louisville wedding photographer who grew up in Southern California I find the winters here in Kentucky to be rather cold.  I had always gone to visit the snow and here I quickly discovered that the snow comes to visit me.  As much as I have enjoyed playing in the snow with my small children, I have also missed getting out to photograph couples.  Fortunately on one of the few days that we recently got a break from the frigid cold I was able to do Amanda and Larry’s Engagement Session.  It was my first shoot of 2014 and it got me excited for wedding season to start again.  I think my favorite image from their shoot was the last one I took at the very end of the session in the heart of downtown Louisville after dark.  I am drawn to the romantic yet mysterious look we were able to create.  I just love it! Amanda and Larry are great people and we had a great time together.  Their wedding is coming up quickly this Spring and I was so glad to get to spend an afternoon getting to know them before their big day.  We went out into the country and into the woods near their home as well as along their horse fence to create some casual portraits.  We also did some by their fireplace and out along a railroad track. Lastly we headed into the city to make use of the Louisville Kentucky gorgeous skyline.  Enjoy!
