Amanda and Billy’s Louisville Engagement Session

For Amanda and Billy’s engagement session we were out to get a more rustic look so we headed out into the countryside. It was a hot day, but that did not stop us from having a fun time creating these portraits. Amanda and Billy were quite adventurous as they walked through a field of freshly bailed hay, explored an old barn, leaned against horse fencing, walked a lush green trail, climbed beneath railroad trestles and tried to cool off as they played in a gentle creek. We decided to finish the session making some more urban images in another outfit downtown. Throughout all the adventures Billy and Amanda were affectionate and a bit playful. It was great taking some time to get to know them and as always I enjoyed creating beautiful and comfortable engagement portraits. As much as I enjoy getting to document wedding stories, I also love the slower pace of spending an afternoon with a couple doing an engagement session. Although the wedding day gets the album, often I find that just as many engagement images, if not more, make it up onto the walls of couples’ homes. There’s something about images that just show that you’re in love with each other that can make everyone viewing the picture smile. It is a great personal pleasure when I have had the opportunity to visit the homes of my previous clients and see photos from their wedding and engagement prominently displayed throughout their home. Some images capture moments and document events while others demonstrate realities like the fact that God has blessed you was such an incredible spouse. I hope these images will remind Amanda Billy of their love for one another for years to come.
