I'm glad you stopped by. My name is David Blair and I am a Louisville Wedding Photographer. My goal as a wedding photographer is to provide brides and grooms throughout Kentucky, Indiana and anywhere worldwide with stunning photographic images and presentations. I strive to produce unique and artistic images that preserve the romance, emotions and overall vibe of weddings in an unobtrusive manner. I absolutely love my job and never get tired of shooting couples on their happiest day. Each wedding is a different and unique experience that pushes me to be even more creative.
I discovered I had an eye for photography when I was first handed a camera in high school. With yearbook providing the film, I was able to continually improve and hone my skill. I had found my niche. In college, I took a variety of photography classes which taught me the technical side of photography, and I then furthered my skill by attending photography conferences and workshops. Now after 12 years of photographing weddings, I love it more than ever.
Courtney & Alberto’s Wedding – Brown Hotel & St. John’s Church
Courtney & Alberto’s Wedding was a joyful adventure. As a Louisville & Lexington wedding photographer I’m quite aware of that rain can change the plans for the day at a moments notice. It was overcast when I arrived and the forecast called for a 30% chance of rain. We were able to create some beautiful images of Courtney getting ready inside the fabulous Brown Hotel, but then just as we were getting ready to leave the hotel the rain came. I don’t mean that it began to sprinkle or that there was a light rain, but there was full on wind blowing and pouring rain that was coming almost sideways. As we open the door to walk outside it reminded us of the Weather Channel special report from the edge of the hurricane. Needless to say we decided it would be wise to stay inside and takes more pictures inside the hotel. Then as a slight break in the storm came we got onto the party bus. Courtney really wanted to do some images outside, but there was still a light rain coming down. After a bit of brainstorming we decided to go to 4th Street Live which has a large roof over the road connecting tall buildings. Unfortunately with the road blocked off this meant everyone would have to walk or run about 50 yards before they could make it to the covering but this fun bride was determined, so with umbrellas surrounding the bride the party made a fast dash for the urban party scene. Amid colorful umbrellas and much laughter we took a series of images outside at 4th Street. Then it was time to head over to the church. In time for the ceremony the sky cleared and Courtney & Alberto were able to get married with sunlight coming in through the windows. The whole day was fun and I was honored to be a part of this celebration. The ceremony at St. John’s Church of Christ was beautiful and the reception in the Crystal ballroom at the historic Brown Hotel looked absolutely stunning. Their guests enjoyed an elegant cocktail hour and then after dinner the dance party lasted long into the night. Alberto and Courtney’s marriage started in style and I so enjoyed getting to document it. Please contact me for any Louisville or Lexington wedding photographer needs.
