Alexis and Matthew’s Louisville Wedding
Alexis and Matthew’s Louisville Wedding at the Hurstbourne Country Club was beautiful. There are lots of excellent venues for weddings in Louisville KY and one of my favorites as a Kentucky wedding photographer is at what they call The Ruins, found between the greens on the Hurstbourne golf course. The Ruins is a rock structure that resembles the facade of a old church building. The surrounding scenery for the ceremony was lush green trees and open fairways. As the guests made their way to the ceremony they first had to cruise in through the long beautiful drive winding through a tunnel of tall trees, then along a small stream and over an old stone bridge. In addition to this gorgeous setting, the clubhouse offers an elegant choice for Louisville wedding receptions. The old mansion has intricate ceilings and woodworking along the walls as well as an incredible staircase. I thoroughly enjoyed spending time with this couple. Matthew and Alexis are carefree and fun loving, but I already knew that after doing their Red River Gorge Engagement Session
. He had asked her to marry him on a cliff with a scenic view in the gorge so they chose to do their session there as well. You should check it out! After the wedding ceremony we hopped in some golf carts and made our way around the property for a bit taking some portraits before we made our way to the reception. After a nice dinner the couple spent some time greeting their guests and then snuck away to practice their first dance. Alexis head agreed to marry Matthew under the sole condition that he was willing to take ballroom dancing classes before the big day. He certainly had put some work in and they did a fine job, complete with a big dip to finish and much applause. I thoroughly enjoyed getting to document their nuptials. Congratulations Matthew and Alexis!
