Kendal and Ryan’s Lexington Wedding was my first of the year. It is always exciting to kick off a new season of Lexington wedding photography and this celebration was a great way to do it. Everything took place downtown at the Hilton. They chose to have the ceremony in a simple room that was truly a blank canvas to work with. Their decorator did an excellent job creating something extrarodinary. She incorporated lots of candles accented with blue up lighting, a wrought iron gate and florals. I loved the flower petals placed rather intentionally in a pattern up the aisle as well as the lanterns and small candles hanging from sticks. Lastly, the classic chairs pushed the setting that much more over-the-top. Of course Kendall had lots of unique details planned which kept me shooting all day long. Her boots were one-of-a-kind and I liked the hair clip she chose to replace her veil with at the reception. Her veil had a ruffled edge and some intricate detail work. Ryan took a walk over to Triangle Park in front of Rupp Arena to create some fun images with his groomsmen by the fountain. Kendal on the other hand opted to stay inside the hotel for her pictures. She looked absolutely stunning. Her bouquet was gorgeous and shooting against the background of their uniquely decorated ceremony room gave her images a one-of-a-kind look. As the guest were finding their seats they listen to the music of a harpist that added to the elegance of the affair. Next everyone made their way upstairs to the reception conveniently located just one floor up. Again the room was well decorated with beautiful table centerpieces and the food was excellent. The dance party got pretty crazy and it was fun to document the lively party. My favorite Lexington wedding photo of the day came in the midst of the series of images we did with the two of them in the elevator. There was just something wonderfully romantic about their affectionate kiss as the doors of the elevator closed. Congratulations Kendal and Ryan!
