As a Louisville and Lexington wedding photographer it is not uncommon for my clients to want to incorporate horses into their images. I moved to Kentucky from the West Coast and it was a big change. I absolutely love the gorgeous bluegrass countryside, lush green forests and many small streams, lakes and rivers. Additionally, one of the most photogenic aspects of Kentucky are the horses. I’ve been asked to come photograph on private horse farms, at Keeneland and Churchill Downs as well as a variety of other locations. Sometimes we are working with just one horse while other times we are working with several dozen. For Lindsay and Jeff’s Lexington Engagement Session we started out in the country so we could, as you might have guessed, get some horses in their photos. I love this first image as everyone looks so comfortable in it. not only is the warm afternoon sun making this green hillside a romantic setting for Lindsay and Jeff, but the horse in the background seems just as relaxed as they are. They have both spent a good part of their life around horses, so just hanging out sitting on horse fences was a great way to show off their common love for the stately animals. next as we made our way into the heart of Lexington we stopped to make use of these gorgeous old stone walls and then we finally made our way to the UK campus where we finished the session. I hope you enjoy this truly Kentucky photo shoot.
