Ashlee and Brad’s Wedding – Mellwood & St Augustine’s Church

Ashlee and Brad said they think I am one of the best wedding photographers in Louisville. I think they are a great couple and I thoroughly enjoyed documenting their day. I love that as a Louisville wedding photographer its realistic to photograph one wedding in two states as I did here. Ashlee and Brad’s Wedding ceremony took place at St Augustine’s Church in Southern Indiana and the reception was just over the river at the Mellwoods Arts Center in Kentucky.  The day began in Indiana at the brides grandmother’s house where she got ready and then we moved into the backyard to do a few comfortable portraits.  Next we headed over to the beautiful church building for the ceremony.  As all the guest crossed the river to enjoy the cocktail hour, Ashlee, Brad and I found a unique old building facade with which we created some absolutely gorgeous Louisville wedding photography as the sun dropped low in the sky.  The image shown above is a perfect example of the romantic Louisville wedding photos my clients have come to expect. I absolutely loved Ashlee’s dress and her vibrant bouquet from Lavender Hill.  Her long flowing dress with ruffles upon ruffles matched quite well with her hairpiece. The wedding day was a really hot one but it certainly did not slow us down.  It was filled with fun and excitement. Once the dance party got started everyone quickly realized this was going to last long into the night.  At the reception Ashlee also chose to change into a little party dress that contrasted the grandeur of her bridal gown. The cake was from Adrienne’s & Co Bakery in Jeffersonville and make sure you don’t miss the groom’s cake. The giant tooth shaped cake left no question about this groom’s profession as a dentist. Thanks for letting me be a part of your celebration Ashlee and Brad.

The formal ceremony was going along as you might expect when suddenly the flower girl decided it was time to rearrange the flower petals she had dropped during the processional.  What had just been an almost silent and serious moment quickly turned into a playful one filled with laughter. Everyone loved it.
