Kentucky wedding photography like these Bardstown wedding photos are a perfect example of why I love getting out of the city. While most of Kentucky was gathered for Thunder over Louisville, Brad and Kelly were tying the knot at My Old Kentucky Home State Park in Bardstown. You couldn’t have asked for better weather or more perfect blossoms on the dogwood trees. Kelly is a complete sweet heart and one of the most laid back brides I’ve ever worked with. The whole day was a blast. The night ended with dancing in the moonlight… but not necessarily to Van Morrison. Kentucky wedding photojournalist David Blair was able to create some gorgeous My Old Kentucky Home Wedding photos for Brad and Kelly. Here is their story in Kelly’s own words.
“Brad and I went to school together in high school but never dated. After graduation we did not see each other for almost 10 years. In the spring of 2008 I was checking out some people on a mutual friend’s facebook page and came across Brad. I sent him a friend request and a short message and he quickly responded. We exchanged emails a few times and eventually got together to catch up on all the years. From that day on we were inseparable. When we got engaged we began the planning right away. I always knew I wanted a big wedding outside so we went to work searching for a venue. From the second we arrived at My Old Kentucky Home in Bardstown, KY I knew it was the place. Next we contacted Louisville KY wedding photographers David Blair. He quickly put us at ease and assured us that we are in good hands.
I tried to do all the planning, with the help of my bridesmaids, mother and Brad, but it was too much. Thank goodness for my wedding planner, Gloriela. She helped make my vision a reality. Simple but elegant was what I told her. And it was just that. The day of the wedding was beautiful! It was sunny and cool, just what we had been praying for. I arrived at the wedding with my Dad in a horse and carriage. Riding up in that carriage, seeing everyone gathered under the rotunda waiting for me was amazing! I made my way up the brick walkway to my waiting groom. When I finally had his hands in mine, I knew we had finally made it. All those decisions I had stressed about seemed irrelevant. On that day, I married my best friend, and cannot wait to see what the future brings.” If you’re looking for Louisville KY wedding photographers, I’d recommend contacting David Blair for your special day!
